Poetry is a creative outlet for me to express myself, to open up my emotions and feelings for the world to see. While reading my poems I hope you are able to take something away from them that touches you, speaks to you, identifies with you, or even emotionally evokes something in you. I want you to make your own opinions on the work.
Any art to me is interpretive and ultimately means its own thing to each person. It’s not for me to tell you what you should get out of a piece. If it’s not clear, then I as the artist did not convey my idea to its clearest potential. Also, many of my poems, I think, are more abstract with meanings hidden away or just random thoughts and it’s okay to draw your own conclusions. I’m always open for discussions and willing to tell you where my mind was at when I wrote a poem. And I would love to hear your feedback on what any of my poem brings to you. But for me, the most important thing is that you are able to take something away with you because a poem has touched you in some way. How and why? Those are your reasons to have.
