A Poem

Shall I write a poem

Something cold and dark as my soul

A metaphor

To my love of the sea and moon

Or just another poem

Of you and your stupid

No,  I’ve strayed off topic

A poem, to write

Nature,

My sweet, sweet nature

Inspire the gods

Muse for my pen

A playful taunt

From a well thought out prompt

It’s all I need

To plant my poetry seed

So many directions

So many worlds to explore

Just a word, or ten to start along

Anticipation grabs

Stop…I remember

Now that must all wait

For I’ve finished my lunch break

Words you Release

The words you release
dance across plains
mountains and lakes
picking up speed and energy
reaching me with enthusiasm
the words fill my toes with excitement
traveling up buildings exuberance
hope and power
releasing in anticipation

Write

I write a poem for every mood
I could write one about your shoe

I wrote a poem when you broke my heart
I wrote another when my life fell apart

I love to write about your smile
I seem to write best when I’m extremely tired

I wrote a poem for our darkest day
I wrote another when I walked away

I will write for class
I love to write while lying in the grass

I wrote of the clouds beneath our feet
I wrote of the world I wanted to keep

I see the future and write it down
I dreamed my death and write above the mound

I wrote to the ocean and to the sea
I wrote of birth and what will be
