My pennies
Always heads-up
Laid out so neatly
Some shinny and new
Passed thru the hands of few
Some used endless times
Still, no challenge
To their worth
Each a collection
I never planned to keep
But now
We’ve become each other’s history
Just pennies in hand
This is where I leave you
Because you won’t go back
And you don’t want to go forward
And I can’t stay here
You have always been honest
and I’ve caught you in lies
or exaggerations
or something that was meant to ease me
but tore at my skin from inside
And a deep breath
an exhale of relief
This is where I leave you
I wouldn’t even call it a break

The void
In the shell
Of my emotions
A white canvas
Torn thru
My motivation
There are no pieces
There was no break
The cold
Burned
Hot as the sun
And I am paralyzed
In the actions of anything
To keep my mind
From living
You know I have poems
For all of you
And words for memories
A collection piling in my books
Songs are great expressions
Some have acquired whole bands
I don’t love you
But feeling for all
Are read in my words
No tears are left on my pages
No pain released
