I took a walk today
And saw an amazing thing
Then I stopped
And saw beautiful things
So I began walking again
Then I saw you
I took a walk today
And saw an amazing thing
Then I stopped
And saw beautiful things
So I began walking again
Then I saw you
Each step away
Sinks further into quicksand
Each vine I grab for
Breaks sooner
And I fall deeper
Trying not to disturb the sand
Still I know
I am being buried alive
Place a box
Climb higher and higher
One on top of another
Pink borders, and a Christmas Tree
For character
With a blond smile
A white bloom takes over
And the ice fairy
Will only find home
Atop mountains
Shadows and walls
beneath the folded paper
Dry ink melts
under tears
and the ripped paper
is slowly placed
Before I started I
was broken puzzle pieces
With only birth
and twelve houses to blame
Your words are warm stone
They smell of sugared sewage
They sound like blooming flowers from persistent weeds
They look like peaceful lies
They taste like wild-berry liquor
They feel like all the safety I want
And all the pain I don’t
